Emmi Y. Slivka ’12 was presented with the Fredric Rieders Award of Excellence in Forensic Science at Arcadia University’s 2012 Honors Convocation, April 28. The award recognizes the graduate student in Arcadia University’s Forensic Science program who has demonstrated academic and individual excellence and leadership in the course of his or her graduate education.

“While in the program, earning a GPA of 4.0, Emmi conducted her own research on the characterization of legal high products, often referred to as bath salts, which have gained national attention in the last year,” said Mark Wade, Assistant Professor and Director of Theater Arts. “Her work was accepted for presentations this year at two Forensic Science conferences. She also earned the Forensic Science Foundation Student Affiliate Scholarship at the AAFS meeting. In her first year in the program, Emmi scored 5th on the forensic science assessment test exam out of all other forensic science graduate students taking the exam across the country.”
