Appelbaum Presents Keynote at Harry Potter-Themed Conference

Dr. Peter Appelbaum, Professor and Director of Disciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies in the School of Education, was the keynote speaker at “Harry Potter: Reflections on the Major Themes in J.K. Rowling’s Literature,” an academic conference held at Chestnut Hill College on Oct. 26. Appelbaum’s presentation was titled “Can Harry Potter Help us Understand Education as a Social Institution?”

The conference is an academic outlet for students, faculty and other scholars to present papers and research related to the Harry Potter Series. It also brings a scholarly component to the Harry Potter Weekend and the 3rd Annual Philadelphia Brotherly Love Quidditch Cup Tournament. Read more.
