Thank you to everyone who made the 19th Empty Bowl Dinner such a success! A large crowd of students, staff, alumni, as well as members of the surrounding communities came to enjoy a meal in Grey Towers Castle and support the cause to raise money for two organizations: Heifer International and Interfaith Hospitality Network. We are happy to announce that over $9,000 was raised to benefit these two wonderful organizations that work to fight hunger and homelessness locally and abroad.

We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to everyone involved in the months of preparation and planning leading up to the event:

Arcadia students who crafted and glazed bowls; a number of First-Year Seminars and other classes who worked together to donate bowls, placemats, and food; the men’s lacrosse team and members of the Campus Life Staff who worked to wash over a 1,000 bowls the Saturday prior to the event; local artisans, schools, and other volunteers who made bowls; local restaurants and independent vendors who donated soups, breads, and desserts; student workers and volunteers through the Community Service Office who picked up soups and bowls, and for all their work throughout the semester to make the event possible.

Together, these ingredients created the recipe for success, and we thank you all for being a part of the 2012 Empty Bowl Dinner. We hope all those in attendance enjoyed the event, and will return November 18, 2013 to be a part of our 20th Empty Bowl Dinner.

Thanks!
