Basketball Player Brown ’15 Discusses the Evolution of His Jumpshot

By Purnell T. Cropper | January 13, 2014

Joe Brown ’15 never learned how to shoot properly (“my dad just advised me to do whatever felt good and went in the hoop”), but he still gets the job done for Arcadia University’s men’s basketball team. Earlier this season, the junior forward was named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week , after shooting 75 percent (18-24) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Knights.

In his blog post, “Love and Basketball,” Brown takes readers back to the dirt court where he developed his unorthodox jumpshot, battling his bigger and stronger older brother. Read his story.
