Nollywood (Cinema from Nigeria) Expert Lectures at Arcadia University, April 9, 11

Akpor Otebele, an expert on Nollywood (cinema from Nigeria) and director of the Arusha African Film Festival, will lecture at Arcadia University on an overview of African cinema using specific examples of Nollywood features, practices, and culture.

  • Wednesday, April 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Brubaker Hall 201
  • Friday, April 11, at 3 p.m. in Boyer Hall’s Calhoun Amphitheater; also includes a screening and discussion of Victor Viyuoh’s Ninah’s Dowry, a noted Nollywood production

A filmmaker, writer, educator, and theater director, Otebele cofounded Hakika Entertainment, a film, video, theater, and media arts production company based in Arusha, Tanzania. He has taught a course in African cinema through The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University.
