Krantz Featured in ‘People’ Magazine and ‘Nature Genetics’
Dr. Ian Krantz, medical director of the Genetic Counseling program, has worked over a decade on identifying a new genetic disorder: a type of dwarfism he named CHOPS Syndrome. People magazine published a two-part story in March on Krantz’s work with the families and children affected by CHOPS, and a scholarly article detailing the research was published in Nature Genetics this spring.
Dr. Krantz is also an associate professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, attending physician in the Division of Genetics at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and co-director of the Individualized Medical Genetics Center.
