Pompeii—A Buried Story, a 3D computer-generated “docu-fiction” film depicting the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, opened on June 5 in Pompei, Italy. The film is the product of a year’s work in the Sicilian city of Syracuse between the National Research Council, 40 specialists, and Dr. Davide Tanasi, professor of ancient history and archaeology at Arcadia in Sicily. Dr. Tanasi also has worked on masonry analysis of materials used in the construction of the city of Pompeii.

Pompeii follows Abalo, who wanders the city, exploring the amphitheater, forum, and temple of Jupiter. The 30 minute film is dubbed in eight different languages to accommodate a wide range of visitors.
