Arcadia DPT Is PT Blog’s Program of the Week
In September, Arcadia’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program was named DPT program of the week in the newsletter for Evidence in Motion (EIM), an educational institution providing postgraduate and continuing education programs for physical therapists.
“The best part of Arcadia’s PT program is the unique, integrated curriculum,” wrote an unnamed Arcadia student for the newsletter. “I was drawn to the case-based units where the faculty work together to integrate all aspects of care as opposed to having separate neuro, musculoskeletal, biomechanics, etc., classes.”
The student also recounted a memorable day in the Physical Therapy program and spoke about hopes for the future of DPT education.
Phil McClure, chair of the Department of Physical Therapy, wrote on the merits of the program, highlighting the curriculum, the emphasis on evidence-based practices, and international pro bono clinical experiences in Jamaica, Guatemala, and Peru.
“We have this wonderful niche of being able to offer a strong evidenced-based professional curriculum along with relevant externally funded research all within a small university setting,” wrote McClure.
