Michelle Mendia ’19, Michele Freire ’18, and Caitlyn Black ’18 have all been accepted into the Vira I. Heinz Program for Women in Global Leadership and awarded scholarships to participate in summer study abroad opportunities.

Each of Arcadia’s recipients will spend a portion of their summer at an international organization: Mendia will study at the University of Granada in Granada, Spain; Freire will attend the CIEE Study Center in Prague, Czech Republic; and Black will study in Taipei, Taiwan at National Chengchi University through CIEE.

The Vira I. Heinz Program for Women in Global Leadership prepares women for tomorrow’s global challenges by offering a unique opportunity for international experiences, leadership development and community service. Three female students are admitted from each of the 14 institutions participating in the global leadership program and receive a scholarship of at least $5,000 toward the cost of a summer study abroad opportunity.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 admission into the program.
