Dr. Samer Abboud, associate professor of Historical and Political Studies, published an editorial in the Middle East Policy Council on Syrian war economics and social change.

“Syria’s war economies will shape post-conflict reconstruction efforts. Making the link clear between the impact of conflict and post-conflict policy is necessary to insure sufficient and timely service delivery and infrastructure reconstruction. One of the central challenges facing practitioners and planners in the post-conflict period is how to build sustainable structures to meet the social and economic needs of populations,” Dr. Abboud wrote.
