Drs. Eaton, Hanson Attend Grant Writing Institute

By Caitlin Burns | July 18, 2017

Dr. Kalenda Eaton, associate professor of English, and Dr. Aroline Hanson, assistant professor of Spanish and Linguistics, attended the 2017 Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Proposal Writing Institute from July 13 to 17.

The Institute, held at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, is designed to assist scholars in grant proposal preparation and provide feedback from experts in their respective fields. The four-day program included time for writing, review, group critique, and plenaries on the proposal evaluation process. Both Dr. Eaton and Dr. Hanson are submitting large external grant proposals to support Humanities research. Dr. Eaton’s project is a multi-campus and multi-country study of freedom commemorations in the Caribbean, while Dr. Hanson is seeking funding for a language preservation project in Costa Rica.

Participation in the CUR Institute was funded by Arcadia’s Office of Sponsored Research “2017 Research Support Fellowship.”
