Dr. Marc Brasof, assistant professor of Education and coordinator of Secondary Social Studies and English Education, will lead a 9-session professional development series through Feb. 27 with teachers and leaders from the School District of Philadelphia.

Dr. Brasof will work with middle and high school educators across the district in their efforts to implement National History Day, a highly rigorous, project-based learning approach to the study of history.

“National History Day enables students to do a deep dive into history and present their findings in myriad ways,” said Dr. Brasof. “This work is part of a larger effort to bring student-centered learning to more Philadelphia schools, and I’m excited to be part of supporting the School District of Philadelphia’s pedagogical vision.”
