Arcadia Recognized as Military Friendly School

By Caitlin Burns | November 30, 2017

(Nov. 30, 2017) – Arcadia University is proud to announce that it has been named a 2018 Military Friendly® School by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM Jobs, and Military Spouse. This marks the ninth consecutive year that Arcadia has earned such distinction.

Arcadia awards American Council on Education (ACE) credit for military training and accepts transfer credits. The University also participates in the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program, a provision of the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. This Yellow Ribbon Program allows post-secondary institutions in the United States to voluntarily enter into an agreement with the Veterans Administration (VA) to fund tuition expenses that exceed the VA’s set reimbursement rate. The institution can contribute up to 50 percent of tuition and fees through the Yellow Ribbon program, which the VA will match.

This Military Friendly® recognition is based on student retention, degree advancement opportunities, graduation and employment outcomes, loan repayment, and other criteria. For the first time, student surveys were included as a consideration for the designation.

Each year, the list of Military Friendly® Schools is provided to service members and their families, helping them select the best college, university, or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career. Ratings methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Victory Media with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.

Arcadia will also be featured in the annual Guide to Military Friendly® Schools, special education issues of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse, and on militaryfriendly.com.
