Career Education Kicks Off Academic Year With e3 Initiative

The Office of Career Education (OCE) is launching a new initiative this fall, ensuring Arcadia students have access to an even greater range of professional opportunities and preparatory resources.
The e3 Career Action Plan is a step-by-step program designed to guide students through challenges and uncertainties they may face when entering the job market. Available to all Arcadia students through the Handshake portal, the easy-to-follow plan can be completed over the course of a semester.
The e3 process is divided into three parts, encouraging students to first “explore” the job market; then, to “engage” in professional opportunities that spark their interests; and finally, to “embark” on a career path that fulfills their passions. In addition to invaluable career development, students receive incentives after each stage and earn a certificate upon completion.
Psychology graduate Emilie Gottlieb ‘18, one of many students who benefited from OCE’s efforts, discovered her position in AmeriCorps’ City Year program through Arcadia’s Fall Career Fair and on-campus interviews.
“I don’t think I would have even known about this opportunity if not for the Office of Career Education,” said Gottlieb.
handBy implementing the e3 initiative, OCE hopes stories such as Gottlieb’s will become the norm for Arcadia alumni. Students who complete the program will learn how to stand out in a global job market by practicing interview skills, building their resumes, and connecting with employers.
OCE will celebrate the e3 launch with a Fun ‘til One event on Thursday, Sept. 13, from noon to 1 p.m. on the first floor of Commons, outside the Stein Fireplace Lounge.
