CEAO Rejuvenates Philadelphia Homeless Shelter
The University’s Creative Expression Art Outreach (CEAO) student organization put their paint brushes to work on Oct. 20 when they rejuvenated the walls of St. Raymond’s House in Philadelphia, a homeless shelter for men and women.
For three hours, nine students painted the walls and columns of the shelter “melon” colors, according to Biology major Evvie Thompson ’19. Creating an accent wall and columns with a “cantaloupe” orange color, the rest of the area was painted with a light green.
“At first, it was a service project, but then it became more personal,” said Thompson, “We were painting their home. We became part of the community.”
