Actuarial Science Earns Advanced Curriculum Status

The Society of Actuaries (SOA) announced Arcadia’s Actuarial Science program earned the Universities and Colleges with Actuarial Programs (UCAP) – Advanced Curriculum status.

Many employers require students to pass two of the four SOA exams upon graduation. Arcadia’s program, which previously held UCAP-Introductory Curriculum status, introduced two new courses that prepare students for the SOA’s preliminary exams. In total, Actuarial Science offers four exam preparatory courses and provides Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) credit. The program also offers numerous mentorship opportunities through local actuarial firms, and helps students find internships and prepare for actuarial careers.

Arcadia’s preparatory courses, taught by experienced faculty with both academic and professional credentials, build student expertise in the necessary areas of mathematics and business.
