Dr. Margaret Longacre, assistant professor of Public Health, was published in Cancer Caregivers, a comprehensive guide to the science of cancer caregiving.

Dr. Longacre has studied the family caregiving and its impacts the health system. She contributed two chapters to Cancer Caregivers, discussing “Who are Informal Cancer Caregivers?” and “The Cancer Support Community: A Person-Centered Model of Evidence-Based Cancer Caregiver Support,” respectively. Her work describes the population of caregivers and how to provide support to this community.

Cancer Caregivers, edited by Allison J. Applebaum, explores “in-depth case studies describing the psychosocial interventions for caregivers, the support available to cancer caregivers within their community, and provides insight on legal and ethical questions surrounding informal caregiving,” according to Oxford University Press.
