Shoy Elected to Arcadia University’s Board of Trustees

Arcadia University is proud to announce that Danny Shoy, Jr., president and CEO of the East Lake Foundation, was elected to the University’s Board of Trustees, effective June 1. 

Shoy is president and CEO of the East Lake Foundation, a community organization in Atlanta, Ga. focused on the revitalization of the East Lake neighborhood, and a redevelopment model for 27 other neighborhoods across the country. 

With 25 years of nonprofit experience, Shoy specializes in community and youth development. Prior to joining the East Lake Foundation, Shoy worked for The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, where he was responsible for awarding $28 million in grants. 

Shoy completed several leadership programs through the United Way of Greater Atlanta, the Association of Black Foundation Executives, the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, Leadership Atlanta, and Columbia University Business School. He serves on the board of Charles Drew Charter School and served as a board member from 2007 to 2010 and then chair-elect in 2010 for Grantmakers for Education, the most diverse consortium of education philanthropists in the U.S. He earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Emory University in 1995 and received its Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013.
