Testing for Unvaccinated Individuals, Masking Approach, and Vaccine Records
We are a little more than four weeks away from the start of one of the most eagerly anticipated fall semesters in recent history at Arcadia. We are excited about bringing students, faculty, and staff back to campus.
Currently, we are in Tier 1–Moderate of our Operational Tiers. While in this tier, those who are unvaccinated must participate in weekly surveillance testing. Those who are vaccinated can opt-in to testing if they’d like. Additionally, even if the level of COVID spread decreases below moderate levels, unvaccinated individuals must participate in COVID testing upon arrival to campus and weekly for the first four weeks of the semester.
- Students who are fully vaccinated are to upload their record of vaccination to Arcadia’s Patient Portal (instructions on uploading are here) by Friday, Aug. 6.
- Faculty and staff who are fully vaccinated are to upload their record of vaccination to the iSolved platform (instructions can be found here for iSolved) by Friday, Aug. 6.
Those who choose not to upload their records or remain unvaccinated will be automatically placed in the surveillance testing protocol and will be contacted directly to schedule their mandated weekly testing. (Anyone who lost their vaccination records can contact their place of vaccination for a copy.)
Note: As previously communicated, vaccinations will be required upon FDA approval; at that point, exemption forms will be available and circulated.
The current approach states that face masks are recommended indoors and in crowds outside for unvaccinated individuals and for individuals who prefer to wear masks. This is always subject to change, and any changes will be communicated to the Arcadia Community. It is important to maintain our campus culture of dignity, personal responsibility, and shared safety in our actions in relation to ourselves and to each other.
We are finalizing our Health and Safety plan for the fall semester, which will be shared with the University community shortly. The plan, developed and continuously updated by our health experts and University leaders, answers questions community members may have regarding campus processes and protocol.
