Scholarship Essay Contest

A total of $5,000 in scholarships will be awarded during each open house. To enter, bring a composed essay with you (no more than two typed pages, double-spaced) on this topic:  Choose a foreign country that you would like to visit and explain why you find that country so appealing.  Submit your essay during the morning registration in Kuch Center.  Be sure to include your name and high school on your essay. You need not have applied nor been admitted to enter the essay contest.

Coming from a Long Distance?

If you are traveling to the Glenside campus from more than 250 miles away, you might be eligible for the Arcadia University Campus Visit Grant. We know the importance of a campus visit in the college search, and we understand the challenges associated with the costs of traveling from a distance. Learn more about the Campus Visit Grant.

Acting Auditions and Portfolio Review

Students interested in auditioning for the B.F.A. in Acting or concentration in Musical Theater should schedule an audition appointment time prior to the Open House.  Students interested in Acting must come prepared with two memorized monologues from a published play with a combined time of no more than three minutes.  Students interested in Musical Theater must come prepared with approximately 32 bars of a piece taken from the musical theatre canon and one monologue from a published play.  Click here to review additional information about the audition before you attend the open house.  Students interested in a B.A. or B.F.A in Art and Design major can have their portfolio reviewed during an open house.  Students will be able to select a portfolio time during the morning registration period.
