Fostering a Culture of Dignity, Personal Responsibility, and Shared Safety This Fall
Dear Arcadia Community,
Arcadia University is eagerly anticipating an exciting fall semester, and I am delighted to report that we will be able to return to predominantly in-person academic, residential, and co-curricular activities. We expect most students, faculty, and staff to be back on campus without social distancing restrictions.
Returning to a predominately in-person campus will be based on fostering a culture of dignity, personal responsibility, and shared safety. Though COVID will remain a part of our lives, we will operate with it in the background while monitoring the evolving virus data, science, and public health best practices.
Our region has made remarkable progress in vaccination rates and lowering the community spread of the virus. Arcadia’s adaptive University health and safety guidelines will allow us to maintain a safe campus and respond if necessary. Getting vaccinated is strongly encouraged – and will be required when fully approved by the FDA. In the event that moderate or significant spread of the virus resumes, we will all, especially those who are not protected by the vaccine, need to adjust our collective behavior to maintain everyone's health and safety.
Over the next few weeks, Arcadia will share details with students, families, faculty, and staff about our collective return to campus. We know that your eagerness and anticipation may be mixed with questions, and we’ll do everything we can in the weeks ahead to educate, inform, listen, and engage. Your feedback and input have been invaluable in helping us plan our return, and we thank you for your participation throughout this entire process.
I have been fortunate to see more of you in person in recent weeks, and with each interaction, conversation, and smile, my excitement for the fall grows. I look forward to a fulfilling return to campus.
