"Our Streets: Demonstrations and Democracy in Global 1968"

Explore the meaning and significance of street demonstrations in the United States, France, Mexico, and Northern Ireland that focused on a range of issues including the Vietnam War, racial and religious inequality, and women’s and students’ rights with faculty panelists including Amy Cox '01M, director of the International Peace and Conflict Resolution program and assistant professor of Political Science, Geoff Haywood, associate professor of Historical and Political Studies, and Peter Siskind, associate professor and chair of the Historical and Political Studies department. You’ll also enjoy a light breakfast during this discussion, which is part of Arcadia’s Global 1968 event series commemorating the 50th anniversary of 1968, one of the most tumultuous and consequential years in modern global history. Climb aboard our luxury coach which will transport you to our afternoon excursion to Grounds For Sculpture, a 40-acre public sculpture park designed to promote contemporary sculpture and help people understand its place in society. The park is a fascinating collection of permanent sculptures, seasonal exhibitions, and educational workshops. Class of ’93 25-Year Reunion Photo & Celebrations
The Class of 1993 will celebrate its silver reunion at events throughout the entire weekend, including the Alumni Weekend Champagne Brunch and All Classes Reunion Reception, where the class will reunite in special reserved areas.
Class members will gather for a commemorative class photograph on the Grey Towers Castle staircase on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. before joining the party on Haber Green at the Knight Market.

"abbey ryan: the light / the shade" (University Commons, Harrison Gallery, 1st Floor)
Stop by the Harrison Gallery to view this exhibition of landscapes and still lifes rendered in oil by Abbey Ryan '03, associate professor of Art and one of Arcadia's 40 Under 40. The exhibition is inspired by Ryan's research excursion to the Greek island of Patmos and represents the culmination of her scholarship undertaken as Arcadia’s first recipient of the Dr. Norman Johnston Faculty Fellowship in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
"Celebrating the Grey Towers Castle Birthday: 120 Years of History through Artifacts" (Landman Library, 1st and Lower Levels)
Curated by Samantha Hipe '18, this exhibition explores the legacy of Grey Towers Castle, built as a private residence for the William Welsh Harrison family, now Arcadia's beloved flagship building. By telling the story of the Castle through artifacts—many of which were discovered during archaeological digs conducted by the student group Society for Castle Restoration—the exhibition allows viewers to gain an appreciation for Castle life through the objects that shaped it. (Facilitated by University Archives and Special Collections.)
