Corsets to Camisoles: Beaver College Girls from Victoria to Gatsby, 1880-1930

Curated by William Freedman, Class of 2019, this exhibition explores the period of dramatic social change that took place in America over the course of fifty years between the 1880s and 1930s, through the lens of our own history as Beaver College. Archival objects tell the story of an evolving student experience, all from a time in Arcadia’s past even before our iconic Castle became the mainstay of our campus.  This exhibition is supported by University Archives and Special Collections and the Apprenticeship Program in the Department of Art and Design.
