Due to COVID-19 precautions, Arcadia University's Empty Bowl Dinner will look a bit different this year to those who are familiar with the event!
This year, join us for a virtual version of our 27th Annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner and be a part of an important community service event. Our purpose for the dinner is to bring awareness to our surrounding community of the hunger and homelessness present both locally and globally. The virtual event on Sunday, November 22 will be held in conjunction with the Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network and will highlight awareness and the nonprofits that address these issues. Stay tuned on our Instagram @ArcadiaCCEC for updates and more information on Sunday's event.
In support of this year's virtual Empty Bowl event, we will be publishing an Empty Bowl Dinner recipe book. We are asking for your favorite soup, bread, and dessert recipes in order to celebrate our Empty Bowl tradition of sharing and generosity.
The recipes will be compiled into a cookbook commemorating the unusual virtual dinner and sold as a fundraiser for the Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network, a local agency that provides temporary shelter and food to homeless families, and Rise Against Hunger, an international program which provides crisis response, nutritious meals, and empowerment initiatives to those affected by natural disasters and those in impoverished areas.
Pre-orders for the recipe book will begin on November 16, 2020. Email us at CCEC@arcadia.edu with any questions!
