Marie Duke Murphy and Sarah Cooper took their first-year seminars in Forensic Science and Forensic Anthropology to the Franklin Institute on Sept. 9 to see the exhibit “Mummies From Around the World.”

In addition to viewing the mummy displays, students had an opportunity to learn how the techniques of forensic science, such as hair analysis, fiber analysis, DNA extraction, MRI analysis and bone anatomy, are being used to determine the age, sex and cause of death of the mummified remains.
