In a special ceremony following the May 4 Board of Trustees meeting, Arcadia presented Rosemary Deniken Blankley ’57, ’06H with the President’s Award for Excellence in Service and Commitment. Deniken Blankley, who also serves as the University’s only Life Trustee, was honored for the monumental impact she and her husband, Walter, have had on the University community. Board Chair Dr. Charles Lentz ’03M noted in the ceremony that the Blankleys’ “extraordinary generosity has allowed Arcadia to provide scholarships and upgrade or expand facilities and resources on campus.”
Also during the ceremony, Arcadia named five longstanding Board members Trustees Emeriti. Former Board Chair Hugh Moulton, Gerald B. Rorer, former Board Chair Margaret “Peggy” Wright Steele ’80, Madeline “Maddy” Stein ’68, and Theodore “Ted” Wood earned the distinction for their unwavering commitment and dedication to Arcadia. Combined, the group served for nearly 100 years as Trustees at Arcadia.
