The Community and Civic Engagement Center is nearly completely student run, and also hires the most students out of any other office on campus. Through the Federal Work-Study Program, we send students to between 20 and 30 non-profit organizations in the local community, including schools and care facilities. The dedicated students and staff of this office also coordinate annual service projects and one time volunteer opportunities for interested students. We act as a facilitator between you and the community - they send us their needs and we ask you to fulfill them!
Being student run, the Community and Civic Engagement Center does not have concrete hours. Generally, we are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We're located at 2005 Church Road, across from Knight Hall. Look for Rufus in the doorway to see if we’re here!
We are pleased to announce a cost decrease for the upcoming Alternative Spring Break in Texas!
The trip has been REDUCED from $625 to $450. This price change comes from the fact we are now working with United Methodist's Texas Recovers. This group manages long term recovery efforts and have just begun their rebuilding efforts this month.
We have remaining openings to fill so if you know anyone interested in attending this trip please let them know about the price drop and direct them to us!
If you have already payed the full $625 you will be refunded the $175 unless you wish to donate the remainder to the trip.
Help the Community and Civic Engagement Center fundraise and share the love!
Hand-dipped and decoratively packaged chocolate covered pretzel rods, personalized chocolate bars, adorable stuffed animals, and beautiful succulents are being sold just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Stuffed animals range in price from $3 to $20, and the succulents will be $6 for one or $10 for two.
All proceeds benefit the Arcadia’s Community & Civic Engagement Center’s Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trip where volunteers will spend their spring break aiding in Hurricane Harvey Relief in the Coastal Texas Region. For more information on the trip please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
