Students in the University Seminar “Coming Out: Claiming Our True Identity” have been exploring what it means to “come out of the closet.” In February, the class hosted three panels of volunteers, including staff, faculty and students who shared coming-out stories including coming out as someone with a mental illness, as a transgender person, as gay, lesbian, or bisexual, as a survivor of abuse, and as someone with an eating disorder. Students then chose a panelist to interview for both a written profile and a visual project based on the panelist's story, which they displayed Tuesday, April 25.
