Theater Alum Now 'Directing' Project Management at Texas A&M

March 29, 2011

“When Brooke Woodruff, IT Manager for the (Texas A&M University) Department of Information Technology’s freshly combined Project Management and Service Desk groups, tells you she’s Arcadia University’s only theater graduate with stage fright, she may be exaggerating ... a little,” according to the Texas A&M Division of Student Affairs March newsletter.

“I received a degree in theater and video art communications,” she is quoted, “but I have stage fright. I was fine when I performed on stage in school, but I grew more nervous after I graduated and went to work in Philadelphia theater. That’s why I decided switch to back-stage and directorial opportunities. In 1995 there was a major National Endowment for the Arts funding decrease, and many of the theaters in Philadelphia went under. So I moved and gradually worked my way into technology development and management.”

“Theater’s loss eventually became Aggieland’s gain,” continues the newsletter. Read more.
