Arcadia University has started a chapter of Sigma Iota Rho, an honor society that promotes and rewards scholarship and service among students and practitioners of international studies, international affairs, and global studies.
The faculty adviser is Dr. Samer Abboud, Assistant Professor of History and International Studies.
Sigma Iota Rho gives members access to graduation regalia, a certificate attesting membership status, opportunities to attend conferences at the United Nations and World Bank, and much more.
“Joining will also give students a chance to create long lasting friendships and interact with like-minded individuals who are intelligent and passionate about International Studies, not to mention act as a resume booster,” says Faith Bogue ’12, Student Chapter President. “We will be holding fun and informative activities about once a month, which should include student roundtable discussions, films, speakers, and internship workshops.”
