November 9, 2011

The Intelligencer (Philadelphia, Pa.) recently reported on young adult author Marie Lamba’s upcoming presentation, “An Insider’s Look at Young Adult Fiction: Writing, Publishing and the YA Author’s Life,” which will take place on Friday, Nov. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Grey Towers Castle. During her presentation, Lamba will discuss writing challenges, market forces and what it's like to be a Young Adult author today, from creation through connecting with readers. She will also offer insights she has from her role as both an author and as an acquiring literary agent. A question-and-answer session follows her talk, along with a book signing.

Marie Lamba (marielamba.com) is author of the young adult novel WHAT I MEANT..., which Publisher's Weekly dubbed "an impressive debut," and of the new YA novel OVER MY HEAD, which New York Times bestseller Jonathan Maberry describes as "funny, touching, and at times heart-breaking." Her work also appears in the anthologies LIAR LIAR and CALL ME OKAASAN: Adventures in Multicultural Mothering, and her articles have been published in many national magazines including Garden Design and Writer's Digest. In addition to her writing, Lamba is also an Assistant Agent for the Jennifer DeChiara Literary Agency in New York City.
