Times Chronicle: Cheltenham Commissioners Honor Students for Mural

March 6, 2012

The March 4 Times Chronicle reports, "The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners honored students from Arcadia University and others for their contributions to a mural on the Roberts block in Downtown Glenside." The newspaper continued:

The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners honored students from Arcadia University and others for their contributions to a mural on the Roberts block in Downtown Glenside.

At the request of the township, students created a mural to enhance a 1916 Beaux-Art style building that had fallen into decline after a fire, launching a new university collaboration with the community.

Making the presentations at a recent board meeting at Curtis Hall are, from left, Commissioners Art Haywood, board president; Drew Sharkey, representative of Glenside, and Kathy Hampton. They are joined by Arcadia University President Carl (Tobey) Oxholm III, fifth from right; local artists Nick D’Amico, fifth from left, and Dan Mallen, third from left, back; and Mary Galbally, right, a member of the Downtown Glenside Community Partnership, which helped organize the project. The Arcadia University students honored are, front, from left, Caroline Caldwell, Amanda Martinez, Kaytria Stauffer; and, back, Jamie Lee Dagen, Amy Perdue and Kat Wagner.
