Montgomery Media reported on July 9 that Arcadia University will be coming to Hatboro County, Pa. The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce is working with Arcadia University to bring classes into the borough this fall, as reported by contributor Caitlin Burns.
The courses have not yet been decided on but a focus group made up of residents, business owners and organizations from around the borough are working with Arcadia officials to put together a course listing that will have both for credit and continuing education courses. So far, Tryon said the reactions have been positive and all parties are interested in bringing Arcadia to Hatboro.
“They’re very interested in it,” Tryon said. “They think it’s a very good idea for Hatboro, and Arcadia is interested.”
An added bonus for residents and businesses who are part of the Hatboro chamber will be a discount in tuition. While Tryon was uncertain about the amount of the discount, he was sure the residential $40 membership and the business membership at $125 would “be beneficial” to those attending the school.
Tryon said Arcadia was the natural choice for this project since its campus is in Glenside and many locals already attend classes there.
“We thought here would be a perfect venue,” Tryon said.
