Douglas ’10 Cast as Principal Actor in Delaware Shakespeare Festival

Jamal Douglas ’10 is cast as Lysander, a principal character, in the Delaware Shakespeare Festival's production of A Midsummer's Night Dream, which runs through July 28 at Rockwood Mansion Park in Wilmington, Del. The Delaware Shakespeare Festival is a professional theatre company dedicated to making Shakespeare accessible and fun by presenting affordable, high-quality classical theatre and education programs to the residents and visitors of the greater Delaware Valley.

Douglas earned a B.F.A. in Acting from Arcadia University in 2010. As a student, he was the recipient of many awards and accolades, including a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for Region II Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Ensemble Acting for his part in the Arcadia University Theater production of Home. Douglas also was named an Irene Ryan Scholarship semi-finalist

“The festival was one of the greatest experiences I have had since being at Arcadia,” Douglas said. “It showed me how much I have learned through the years and how much our program at Arcadia has to offer in the world of theater.”
