School of Education Awarded Mini-Grant for Content and Special Education Baccalaureate Program

Arcadia University's School of Education has been awarded a $20,000 mini-grant to support the planning and development of a Dual 7-12 Content and Special Education Baccalaureate Program. This mini-grant is part of Pennsylvania's “Improving Student Results: A Focus on Highly Qualified Special Education Personnel." The program planning team, co-led by Drs. Clare Papay and Peter Appelbaum and comprising faculty in secondary education, special education, English, and math, as well as teachers from Upper Dublin High School led by Eva Morrison, will develop an undergraduate program that will allow secondary education students in the areas of math and English to gain a dual certification in their subject area and special education within four years.
