Rendell Center for Citizenship and Civics at Arcadia University and National Constitution Center Announce Essay Contest Finalists

At the National Constitution Center (NCC) on Nov. 21, Former Governor Ed Rendell and Judge Marjorie Rendell announced the finalists of a citizenship essay contest undertaken through the Rendell Center for Citizenship and Civics at Arcadia University. The contest was aimed at 4th and 5th grade classrooms in the Philadelphia area (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Montgomery counties). Nearly 30 schools participated, sending in more than 150 essays.

The Rendell Center is a collaborative effort between the NCC and Arcadia University. Its mission is to promote civics education and responsible citizenship by offering opportunities to develop the knowledge, practices, and characteristics of an engaged citizenship. These opportunities are extended to the Arcadia community, educators, the public, and students of all levels throughout the region.
