CNN, Inquirer: Slesaransky-Poe Discusses Embracing Gender Differences in Schools

October 8, 2014 blog Schools of Thought posted a story Oct. 3 quoting Dr. Graciela Slesaransky-Poe, professor of education and founding dean of the School of Education at Arcadia University.

“This is the reality in which we live: Gender is a continuum, not a box,” said Slesaransky-Poe in “6 ways to embrace kids’ gender differences at school,” which cited an article she wrote about her experience with a gender-nonconforming child. The blog also referred to the Philadelphia Inquirer education feature published this summer highlighting her work with school districts across the country.

“We need to be sure we don't create structures and artifices to reinforce binaries that limit and constrain the ways in which we behave and express ourselves,” Sleseransky-Poe told CNN. Read the article.
