On LinkedIn, Galing ’18 Lists Lessons Learned from Sixers

Samantha Galing ’18 recounted a recent visit to the Philadelphia 76ers business office for LinkedIn’s Pulse blog on April 13. Galing, a business administration major, visited the office with other members of Arcadia’s student-run Society for the Advancement of Business Administration.

“Having an opportunity to get an inside look at what it is like to work in professional sports left me with many new insights,” Galing writes. Some of those insights include:

  • Working in sports means more hours and odd hours than a typical 40-hour work week.
  • You don’t have to major in sports management to work in the sports industry.
  • Working with a minor league sports team is a good easy way to get a feel for what it is like to work for a professional sports team.
