Margaret Stephan was one of two Arcadia alumni to receive the 2015 Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award.

Margaret Stephan ’14M, who earned a Master of Education and intern certification from the School of Education, received the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching for her work as the founding special education instructor at The U School, a district high school that opened in fall 2014. Fifty-eight other educators also received the award, including Kathryn May ’06, an English teacher at Parkway Northwest high school.

Given annually to Philadelphia high school teachers, the Lindback Award recognizes educators who motivate students to learn and explore, collaborate with co-workers, and create a positive and supportive learning environment. Recipients were honored in a ceremony at Philadelphia’s Prince Music Theater in May. In addition, each winner received $3,500.
