South Philly Review spotlights Taysha Canales ’11 for her roles as Mother Wolf, the Monkey, and Kaa the Snake in the Arden Theatre Company’s world premiere of The Jungle Book. This is Canales’ second consecutive world premiere, having acted in Moon Cave at Philadelphia’s Azuka Theatre in the spring under the direction of Adjunct Professor Kevin Glaccum.
While a theater student at Arcadia, Canales earned a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region II Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Ensemble Acting for her role as Woman Two in Home. Since graduation, Canales has worked with the Arden and Azuka as well as the National Constitution Center, the Philadelphia Artists’ Collective, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Flashpoint Theatre Co., Plays & Players, and Simpatico Theatre Project.
