From July 22 to 27, Arcadia hosted 29 students from China’s Jiaozhou High School for a cultural exchange through a partnership established five years ago.

Olayinka Adesehinwa ’17, Collin Boris ’18, Matt Graziano ’18, Anouchka Kibura ’17, Cliff Long ’17, and Yasemin Simsek ’17 served as Arcadia International Peer Associates League (iPAL) members to mentor the students. The visit included English language classes, sporting activities, presentations by Arcadia staff, and cultural trips to Philadelphia.

In addition, three teachers from Jiaozhou elementary schools visited local schools to discuss future collaborations. Teachers from Copper Beech Elementary and Arcadia Trustee Charles Lentz, principal of McKinley Elementary School, discussed education in the United States, while Springfield Township Superintendent Nancy Hacker and Principal Charles Rittenhouse hosted the visitors at Springfield High School.
