Adjunct Professor of Psychology Dr. Monica Campbell was quoted in the November issue of Essence magazine in an article discussing the necessity of friendship, particularly among African American women, and different ways to nurture it during the holidays.

Friendships can be challenging, but it is important that we hang in there and put as much attention on the association as we do other relationships. Those friends can be lifelong partners on our journey in the same way that family or romantic partners can be.
