On March 4, 390 students and 32 faculty and staff members will depart for Preview, a two-credit course and weeklong international experience that provides first-year and transfer students with a taste of study abroad.
Those participating in the 23rd annual Preview—considered to be the most diverse in terms of locations offered—will spend their spring breaks in Chile, China, England, France, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Oman, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, and Turkey.
“We'll be hiking, camping in the desert, swimming at a place called Wadi Shab, visiting mosques, and learning about the culture,” said Lana Valente ’19, who will head to Muscat, Oman to study archaeology in the gulf region. “I’m beyond excited to go. It’s surreal whenever I leave the country.”
Throughout the week, students will explore their destination’s history and culture through topics such as music, fashion, art, literature, film, food, education, and politics. Classes will share their experiences and findings at the Global Expo, an annual event that celebrates international education.
