Arcadia University Mathematics students presented at the regional meeting of the Mathematical Association of America on April 1 at Kutztown University. Each of the eight students, including two from Jiangxi University in China, spoke about different studies that they conducted.
The presentations included: “Using R to compare the power of three techniques for analyzing pretest-posttest designs” by Qinxiao Shi ’17 and Matthew Marino ’18; “Assessing the Effectiveness of Arcadia's Alcohol Education Course” by Joseph Dooney ’17 and Katie Lehnert ‘18; “Techniques for Handling Missing Data” by Leanne Vicente ’17; “Mathematically Modelling the Spread of Disease” by Jennifer McGrogan ’17; and “The Effect of Income Level on Social Security Benefit Commencement” by Lee Zhou ’17 and Mariya Rebkavets ’17.
Arcadia University works in cooperation with Jiangxi University for the continuation of the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Undergraduate Joint Education program.
