Student Health Services Director Kathy McGovern, MSN, CRNP and Assistant Director Theresa Smith, MSN, CRNP published “Proof of Immunity Requirements for Health Care Providers and Students: A Guide” in Consultant360, a multimedia platform for primary care professionals.
Over the past nine years at Arcadia, McGovern and Smith documented a shift in “proof of immunity” requirements from organizations that now request serologic testing for students entering health care fields, as opposed to validation of immunization dates. Through their research, they hope to guide health service professionals in using serologic tests to verify childhood vaccinations, interpreting data related to therapeutic immunity responses, and following up with immunization results.
