Members of Arcadia's International Peer Associates League
Arcadia students and faculty joined nearly 10,000 international education professionals at the 2018 NAFSA: Association of International Educators Annual Conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pa., from May 27 to June 1. This year’s theme, “Diverse Voices, Shared Commitment,” drew representatives from more than 3,500 institutions and organizations worldwide to discuss education abroad, international partnerships, student services, and language studies.
Meredith Mashner, director of International Student Services, presented “Building a Successful International Student Ambassador or Peer Mentor Program” alongside colleagues from Rutgers-Camden, Towson University, and Widener University. Mashner explained the structure and implementation of Arcadia’s International Peer Associates League (IPAL) peer mentorship program, which partners international students with on-campus student volunteers to ease the adjustment process, promote inclusion, and encourage cultural exploration.
