Arcadia University’s Athletics program announces the addition of a Men’s and Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field program to its intercollegiate offerings, beginning in fall 2019.
“It has been our goal for some time to add Track and Field to our sports offerings,” said Brian Granata, director of Athletics at Arcadia. “We believe that we can attract top-notch student-athletes that desire a quality education where they can compete regionally and nationally within these sports. The addition of Track and Field also will enhance our Cross Country programs by providing year-round competitive opportunities for elite-level runners. This is a natural fit for Arcadia.”
Arcadia’s Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach Joe Dyas will be appointed head coach of the Track and Field programs on a one-year interim basis effective June 1 and will work on filling vacancies for both a full-time and part-time assistant coach.
The Knights will compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. The inclusion of the Knights’ programs, as well as the addition of Stevens Institute of Technology to the MAC in 2019-20, brings the Conference’s total sponsorship to 15 teams.
