Actuarial Science major Carlie Banchi ’20 was awarded the Casualty Actuaries of the Mid-Atlantic Region (CAMAR) scholarship by the Casualty Actuarial Society for outstanding performance in an Actuarial Science program in May.
Each year, CAMAR scholarships are awarded to six students from Arcadia University, Elizabethtown College, Grove City University, Lebanon Valley College, Messiah College, Morgan State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Penn State University, Robert Morris University, St. Joseph’s University, Temple University, Towson University, University of Delaware, University of Pennsylvania, or West Chester University. The scholarship committee noted Banchi’s “academic excellence, professional determination, and overall scholastic and personal achievements.”
Banchi was also interviewed on May 29 by AdvisorSmith about her path to pursue actuarial science as a profession, her experiences at Arcadia, and her aspirations for after graduation.
Banchi has previously interned with the Society of Actuaries, and is working with Penn Mutual this summer.
