Join the Community and Civic Engagement Center (CCEC) in the fight against hunger at the 26th annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner on Nov 11. Seatings are scheduled from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Grey Towers Castle.
Attendees select a ceramic bowl that is handcrafted by an Arcadia community member, a Cheltenham student, or a renowned artist, to use as their soup bowl. Enjoy a wide variety of delicious soups, breads, and desserts donated by area restaurants. After the event, attendees keep the bowl to serve as a reminder that for many people around the world, an empty bowl is a reality of their mealtime.
Proceeds from Empty Bowl are split between two organizations each year. This year, proceeds will go to the Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network, a local agency that provides temporary shelter and food to homeless families, and Rise Against Hunger, an international program that provides crisis response, nutritious meals, and empowerment initiatives to those affected by natural disasters and those in impoverished areas.
Tickets are $13 for students and children, $16 for general admission. Guests can purchase tickets online or at the door, and are asked to bring a non-perishable food item with them, which will be donated to Arcadia’s Knights for Nutrition Food Pantry.
