The Writing Center hosted poet Robert Fillman ’09M for a discussion on the process of creating the sharp and meditative poems in his new chapbook, November Weather Spell, on Oct. 25. After the discussion, he answered general questions about poetry and writing and ended the night with a book signing.
November Weather Spell was published in 2019 by Main Street Rag Publishing Company. Fillman has been a finalist for the Gerald Cable Book Award, the Keystone Chapbook Contest, and the Rash Award in Poetry. His poetry has appeared in Cider Press Review, The Hollins Critic, Nashville Review, Ninth Letter, Poet Lore, Poetry East, and Tar River Poetry, among other outlets. After earning an M.A. in English at Arcadia University, Fillman, who is an assistant professor of English at Kutztown University, earned a Ph.D. from Lehigh University.
